Markus Schürmann has been involved with technology since his youth—not merely out of interest, but out of a genuine passion for solutions that work. He was strongly influenced by his father, who worked as a developer and engineer and was responsible for international patents.
From an early age, he learned to approach technical systems not only in theory, but with a practical mindset.

This environment laid the foundation for his deep understanding of complex interrelationships and for an attitude that continues to shape his work today: technology should serve people—clearly structured, reliable and robust in everyday use.

When he founded SWICA in 2000, his aim was to develop communication and media technology solutions capable of meeting the real-world requirements of companies, public authorities and international organizations—even under demanding conditions.
His guiding principle remains unchanged:
